 History
Health Plus Associates now a well
established group medical practice began in the Red Hills
Mall in Kingston, Jamaica in October 1993 by Drs Orville
Nembhard and Tomlin Paul. Both doctors are graduates of the
University of the West Indies Medical Class of 1983 and have
pursued further studies in public health. Dr Nembhard also
holds an MBA from the University of Leicester UK.
The philosophy of the medical centre speaks to quality,
service and team work. We are committed to high quality,
comprehensive health care and have always strived to ensure
that the “Health Plus” team provides a service consistent
with this commitment.
The centre began with a complement of 3 family physicians
working from 8.30 in the morning to 7.00 at nights so that
there was at least one physician on duty at any one time.
The original team also had an obstetrician/gynaecologist,
dermatologist, dietitian and physiotherapist. We also
offered laboratory services through Central Lab.
Over the years the clientele grew and with the increased
demand for a wider range of services, the centre was moved
in October 2002 from the Red Hills Road to the newly
constructed Boulevard Supercentre Mall located on the
Washington Boulevard in the Kingston 20 area.

Statement
Health Plus Associates is committed to improving
the health and well being of Jamaicans through high quality
comprehensive health care to individuals and families. We
emphasize patient-education for disease prevention,
screening and an integrated whole person approach in
managing the health problems of individuals.
