Dr Tomlin Paul MB BS MPH
Dr Paul graduated from the University of the West Indies,
Faculty of Medical Sciences
in 1984 with an MB BS degree and in 1987 went on to gain his
Masters in Public Health from the same University. He has
been in family practice since
1987 and is one of the
founding directors of Health Plus Associates.
Dr Paul is also a lecturer in the Section of Community
Health at the University of the West Indies where he is
undergraduate coordinator and teaches primary care and
family medicine. In 1999, he completed a fellowship in
Chronic Disease Epidemiology at the
Johns Hopkins
School of Hygiene and Public Health.
Dr Paul has published several scientific research papers in
the international medical literature and is currently
involved in research on the link between asthma in children
and cockroach allergens and on the nutritional epidemiology
of prostate cancer in Jamaica. He is a founding member of
the Whole Person Resource Centre of Jamaica and Hope Estate
Educational Partners and is currently a member of the
National
Family Planning Board of Jamaica, McCams Child
Development Centre. He is also a Regional Vice President of
the
Caribbean
College of Family Physicians
and a member of the
World Organisation of Family Doctors.
Dr Paul is an avid cricket fan and claims not only
resemblance to world renowned
Brian Lara but also similar batting skills. He also loves
to write and pursues farming in his spare time.
